strives to assist both the buyers and sellers at each sale. With a current sale
flyer mailing list of over 9,000, an advertising budget of over $97,000.00,
appearing in 12 publications monthly, as well as appearing on the World Wide
Web via www.westernexchange.com ,
Belle Plaine Western Exchange takes it's responsibilities
serious.
The Belle Plaine Western Exchange offers the consigners the opportunity to put their horse in a catalog for a $50 fee. As a bonus, the horses are listed on the World Wide Web and, if we receive the entry in time for our flyer, they will be listed in it. The flyer is mailed out to our whole mailing list which is about 9,000 people.
In addition to the advertising efforts, Belle
Plaine Western Exchange has a direct line to buyers in Europe and South
America. Belle Plaine Western Exchange doesn't rely on export agents for the
international buyers, we sell directly to international customers.
As
the interest level in the equine industry has continued to grow and expand in
this country, as well as internationally, the calibar of horses have evolved as
well. As our national breed association's and special interest association's
continue to promote, foster and expand the base of interest in the equine
interest among young horseman, industry leaders have come to the forefront to
offer support of this $600 million dollar industry area as well.
The
results of a year-long study conducted by the Barents Goup of Washington, DC
and commissioned by the American Horse Council, the national legislative
representative for the horse industry, indicates that the horse industry
produces foods and services of $25.3 billion and has a total impact of $112.1
billion on U.S. gross domestic product. Of that total, $223 million per year is
generated strictly on horse shows.
There are over 6.9 million horses in
the U.S., including both commercial and recreational horses. 2,970,000 of those
horses are used for recreation purposes, while 1,974,000 and 725,999 of those
horses are involved in showing and racing and racehorse breeding, respectively.
1,262,800 are used in other activities, such as farm and ranch work, rodeo,
polo, police work, etc. With a strong equine market both buyers and sellers
alike will benefit in all segments of the horse industry.
